A walk through one of the major lead mining areas of the Peak District. The walk takes in the borders of the Dark Peak District and the White Peak District. On a clear day you can see for miles. |

| Hathersage Moor and the Padley Gorge |
Hathersage Moor lies on the eastern edge of of the white peak, although it shares more characteristics with the dark peak further north. The walks comes in two halves, the moorland on the higher ground, and the wooded gorge lower down. |

| Big Moor's gritstone edges |
Big Moor is an area of gritstone highland on the eastern edge of the Peak District. The moor itself is made up of an upper shelf and a lower shelf above the Derwent valley. This walk offers the chance to follow both the upper and lower edges, in what has got to be on of the classic edge walks in the Peak District. |

The area around Axe edge moor was once the coal mining district for Buxton. Nature has obscured most of the workings, but there is still quite a lot to see. This is quite a lonely walk, even though you are never far from humanity. |
